Zero Damage was founded in 2016 by Architect Wilfredo Mendez and Engineer Esmeralda Niño in Puerto Rico, with a mission to revolutionize construction through innovative structural assembly technology.
In 2018, the founders were selected for the National Science Foundation's I-Corps program, receiving a $50,000 grant. By 2021, Zero Damage introduced its patented InterjointⓇ technology, enabling assembly without screws or welding.
From 2021 to 2022, Zero Damage quintupled its revenue, driven by prefabricated habitable structures and venture capital support from Carbono3 LLC.

Architect & Co-Founder
Wilfredo holds a Master's degree in Architecture from the School of Architecture (2010) and has worked with prestigious, award-winning architecture firms in Puerto Rico.
A dedicated educator, he has been teaching at the Catholic University of Puerto Rico's School of Architecture since 2012. His pioneering bio-inspired building technology research earned him recognition from the National Science Foundation.
Engineer & Co-Founder
Esmeralda is a manufacturing and industrial engineer with a Master's degree from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León and the University of Puerto Rico.
With extensive experience as a manufacturing engineer for industry leaders like Whirlpool, General Electric, and Takata American Automotive, she also taught at the Monterrey Institute of Technology.
